Dimensions

Ambient album

What can I say about “Dimensions”? It’s simple. These are checkpoints. Looped moments of memory. Loops. With ascending and descending dynamics. The album doesn’t contain a drop of live sound. Only MIDI. VST instruments. Pure digital. Passed through analog tape. Or maybe that’s just an echo. A memory? Who knows. The album has no purpose or goal. It’s just a door through which I periodically escape, brewing pu-erh tea. The recording and mixing took a good week. The record was written with unusual ease. I didn’t try to squeeze material out of my finger. Everything flowed like moonlight. Turning into a glittering path on the water. Carrying thoughts away. An old laptop, a MIDI keyboard, a Focusrite card, headphones. And voila—the work began. I really love this kind of lightness. “A blanket of fog Covered the river Soon I’ll cover myself with a light sheet.” The cover was also a no-brainer. I knew right away what I wanted. Fortunately, the weather, reading my thoughts, painted everything in the colors I needed. I really wanted to print a batch of CDs. Arrange a book. However, I quickly abandoned this idea, considering that shoving my face into an ambient album would be pretty stupid. And I was too lazy to take photos of nature, which is undoubtedly magnificent in Siberia. Maybe someday? Run, my dear listener, into dimensions. Maybe into yours, maybe into mine, the world is yours.
